Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League (PS5)
Suicide Squad marks a distinct change in style for Rocksteady after the Arkham games and while it's not perfect it does have plenty of redeeming qualities such a great dialogue, fun combat, and nicely varied abilities for the four characters. Will definitely benefit from future expansions as a live service game but the framework is certainly there.
Hunt: Showdown (PS4)
Crytek blast back on to the scene with a scare your pants off zombie hunter. Not for the faint-hearted, but definitely worth a look.

E3 2018 – Ubisoft Press Conference

Assassin’s Creed Unity

A lot of changes have been made in Assassin’s Creed Unity to make way for some new and interesting additions. The new free flowing co-op missions replace the PvP multiplayer from previous titles, the crafting system disappears for a more extensive character customization and they finally return to the roots from the earlier games with a more city centric world to explore, replacing the vast oceans and wilderness of the last couple of titles. Unity delivers a story boasting a classic revenge tale, a titillating love story and an intriguing murder mystery which is interesting at times yet fairly flat at others. Read more…

Review – South Park: The Stick Of Truth

South Park is definitely not for everyone. In the 17 years it has been on the air it has probably offended more people than any other TV show. Its crude humour ranges from Tom Cruise being locked in a closet and not wanting to come out to Kanye West being a gay fish and everything in between. It is a show that doesn’t pull any punches and yet still has such a following that after 17 seasons, it’s still going strong. After 4 long years in development Obsidian have delivered an excellent game that pays homage to the source material while delivering something fresh that could be considered an entire season of the show wrapped into a nice 14-hour RPG. Review – Far Cry 3

Imagine living the ultimate dream life. You’re rich, on a vacation with your equally rich friends and you’re indulging in more substances than you probably should. It doesn’t matter though because you’re young, right? Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, your plane crashed and you’ve been captured by some downright INSANE pirates. Your name is Jason Brody and this is your life. Read more…

2013 Gaming News So Far

We have been a bit inactive here at Drop Bear Gaming so far in 2013 due to a number of unforeseen things. Excessive work at our day jobs, illness, my laptop committing seppuku and the other distractions of life have meant we haven’t managed to get many posts up here. We are working to rectify this but to make up for not really covering anything this year I’ve decided to give a run down on what big news has been happening in the gaming world in no particular order. EBX 2012

The second annual EB Expo came and went over the weekend just past and it most definitely lived up to EB Games’ hype about being bigger and better than the inaugural show last year. With attendance counting in the thousands higher than last year and the duration increased to three days instead of just two it was definitely a lot busier, and the atmosphere from the punters had the venue buzzing with excitement throughout the entire event. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League (PS5)

Will definitely benefit from future expansions as a live service game but the framework is certainly there.
Hunt: Showdown (PS4)
Crytek blast back on to the scene with a scare your pants off zombie hunter. Not for the faint-hearted, but definitely worth a look.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint (PS4)
Despite some big changes from Wildlands this sequel doesn't quite manage to differentiate itself in a crowded market. While still an immensely fun game with a strong story, it is another Ubisoft 4-person co-op shooter by numbers.
Concrete Genie (PS4)
What starts off as a beautiful and unique experience loses it's way fairly early into this short game. While still managing to be a charming game throughout, the painting mechanics aren't quite nuanced enough to hold up for the journey through. A disjointed combat mechanic thrown in mid-way doesn't help either.
MediEvil (PS4)
A loving coat of fresh paint gives this PSone classic a new life on the PS4. While it still has some of the quirks of PSone gaming it is still great to nostalgically revisit the epic story of Sir Daniel Fortesque.
