The second annual EB Expo came and went over the weekend just past and it most definitely lived up to EB Games’ hype about being bigger and better than the inaugural show last year. With attendance counting in the thousands higher than last year and the duration increased to three days instead of just two it was definitely a lot busier, and the atmosphere from the punters had the venue buzzing with excitement throughout the entire event. Why The 3DS Price Drop Does Not Spell Doom For Handheld Gaming

Recently Nintendo announced a massive price cut for the 3DS, dropping it from US$250 to US$169 (AU$350 down to AU$250 in Australia) due to poor consumer uptake of the new console. This comes a mere four months after the release of the unit (April 2011) which has prompted a large number of websites to deem this to be a foreshadowing of the death of handheld gaming in this form. 3DS Gets Only One QLD Midnight Launch

3 days to go for the launch of the Nintendo 3DS and Drop Bear Gaming will be attending the only Queensland midnight-launch. That’s right come down to the Indooroopilly EB Games and while you line up to pick up the latest in mobile gaming have a chat to Lucas and Matt and see if you get on the episode 11 of the DBG Podcast. We will also be getting a few photos for the coverage article and you may be one of the lucky people to get a photo with us for the site. If you are interested then get down to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre at 10 pm on Wednesday the 30th and be a part of mobile gaming history when the 3DS drops.
