Drop Bear Gaming recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Tom Killen of The Voxel Agents, the makers of the award winning Train Conductor series. Tom was one of the coordinating team behind the 2011 IGDA Melbourne Global Game Jam. We asked Tom a few questions about the event and what it takes to make one of the years most successful Jams.
The Independent Game Developer Association (IGDA) is holding it’s much-admired and extremely successful Global Game Jam, this coming week-end. All over the world at 5pm Friday January 28th to 5pm Sunday January 30th, in 44 countries and at 174 sites which include Schools, Techs, Universities and local community halls; some of the smartest and brightest in our industry will battle it out to create a fully functioning, playable game. Started in January 2011 by brothers Lucas and Matt, Drop Bear Gaming has been operating for over 7 years offering a fresh and relaxed perspective on the video game industry. The website is a passion project more than anything and it is our distinct pleasure to continue bringing entertainment to our listeners and viewers.
The guys release a podcast episode every two to three weeks and over the years they have welcomed guests from developers, publishers, and other gaming outlets onto the show.
