Xbox One Lost The Battle, Has Playstation 4 Won The War?

Over the past twenty four hours or so, I have seen increasing numbers of tweets, Facebook updates, memes and articles showing a growth spurt in supporting the Playstation 4 being the next gen console of choice – even from folks I have  known to be the Xbox faithful’s in my inner gaming circle.  While I am all for the preferential choice of platforms, and have tried to maintain neutrality between the two choices, I am wondering if I will be the only one with an Xbox One.

Review – Black Ops 2 Uprising DLC

It seems like only last week that Revolution was released, and everyone was in the throes of hammering out challenges for the Peacekeeper, diving through toppled, gravity-confused skyscrapers in Die Rise, and hunting the sole human in Turned mode, apart from wiping out the entire population of Earth on Hydro, Downhill, Grind, and Mirage. As it turns out, that was right at the very end of February, and with a nice 2-month time period for gamers to pay up, blast some more people/zombies, and eventually go somewhere else, Activision and Treyarch have given us the second of four DLC releases for Black Ops 2. Now, I hear you asking “How does Uprising compare to Revolution?” and to answer that particular question, I offer one response – keep reading!

Arguably one of the best-known titles in gaming for many years, the new instalment proved its’ popularity with server hiccups upon release — the biggest ruckus on social media since Diablo III launched in 2012.  Launch problems aside, the popular city building title plays different to its predecessors and is an overall charming little package.  Sim City – the fifth instalment, is here.  At the time of publication, it seems to now be working fine too!

The next game in the Bioshock franchise is here and having played and loved the first one I had my standards set high and could not be more excited in the lead up. Review – Crysis 3

Back in 2007 the gaming world went mad. There was some new game which was pushing visual and technical boundaries that were leagues ahead of any other games on the market at the time. This game was Crysis, and for its day it looked and functioned phenomenally, thanks to the proprietary engine developed by Crytek known as CryEngine. Read more…

Thoughts on… Batman: Arkham Origins!

As a somewhat long-time Batman fan, the idea of a Batman game threw me into a spin of ‘fanboyism’ all the way back when Arkham Asylum was announced in 2008. Ever since then, I have had a soft spot for Rocksteady’s gadget-wielding, shadow-lurking, gravelly-voiced vigilante superhero series, and my love went skyward with the announcement of Arkham City – which was everything I wanted in a Batman game, and so much more. So, with the announcement of Batman: Arkham Origins, I thought I’d bring my feelings on the possible finale to the Arkham series.
