Latest Podcast: Episode 224 – When In Rome
Lollipop Chainsaw

When one thinks about zombies in video games, titles like Left 4 Dead, Zombie Apocalypse, Dead Island, and so forth come to mind.  Even recently, Robert Kirkman’s zombie creation The Walking Dead has become interactive on gaming platforms.  We rarely suspect the zombie-hunting protagonist to be a perky 18-year-old cheerleader, nor would we expect to decapitate a zombie and see rainbows.  Thanks to Suda 51, it is now possible.

Starhawk

Think Red Dead Redemption. In Space.

Weird right? But that’s the initial thought I had after 10 minutes with Starhawk. Truth be told, it’s a little different from that, but Starhawk is definitely one of the few Sci-fi Westerns out there that’s worth a look. Read more…

Resistance: Burning Skies

Like many others, I have been waiting with bated breath to see what a first person shooter on the Vita would be like. The unit obviously has the potential to be great and with the sales not going too well, perhaps a FPS is exactly what the system needs to jump start its popularity. Resistance: Burning Skies is the first of the genre on the Vita and being a first-party title you would expect it to come out guns blazing and showing off exactly what we can expect. Sadly that isn’t quite what has happened. Read more…

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Beta)

You know the drill. T’s vs CT’s. Everyone who has played games of any sort or, heck, even used a computer in the last ten years has probably heard of Counter-Strike, or CS, as it’s often called. Read more…

Sorcery (Move)

Dust off your Move controllers and flex your spell casting wrist boys and girls, because Sorcery is here and it’s bringing carpal tunnel inducing fantasy to your living room. Read more…

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

This could be one of the more challenging reviews I have written to date.  GRFS is a long awaited game for the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series –  it has been eleven years since the first game, and five years since Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 – so essentially it should appeal to veterans of the game series or be a refreshing change for newcomers.  This is about tactical warfare, and as far as current shooters are concerned, Ghost Recon Future Soldier is doing things a bit different. Need For Speed: World

Woah, looking back on the Need for Speed franchise and saying they’ve published a fair few games would be an understatement. We recently reviewed NFS: The Run late last year, so we thought it might be a great time to check out the 15th instalment in the Need for Speed series from 2010, called ‘World’. Read more…

Reviewed Kinect Star Wars, I Have

Roughly two years ago at E3, we finally got to see what Project Natal was all about; thus being the Kinect for Xbox 360.  We saw what Your Shape Fitness Evolved, Dance Central and Kinect Sports had in store for us.  We also got a little teaser for Kinect Star Wars, which had a lot of tongues wagging – especially mine.  With a vague release date, and even originally set for October 2011 that got delayed just a little more, the wait finally ended on April 5, 2012.  Kinect Star Wars is here and was well worth the wait.  As far as expectations of ‘will this game give me a lightsabre and can I use the force in a Star Wars environment?’ – Absolutely! Mass Effect 3

I’m going to be honest, I am completely ashamed to say that I have not actually played the first two Mass Effect games before. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to, but my ever lingering lack of funds have long prevented me from buying most of the awesome games out there. But never fear! For this review, I joined forces with a good friend of mine who is a Mass Effect veteran and in fact wrote an article on the Mass Effect 3 launch for DBG. Together, we were able to experience Mass Effect 3 from both the beginner and the veteran points of view. What you will read here is a combination of both our opinions. Read more…

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (Vita)

I love me some fighting games! Yes-sir-ree~ I’ll admit I haven’t played any of the Marvel vs. Capcom games or the like before – that is, before Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for Vita is pretty much the same as the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, but it has the added handiness of being able to be played on the go on a hand-held. Read more…
