It was Nintendo’s turn to WOW and it seems they did. A switch to a more functional controller, true HD graphics, built in flash memory and a 6.2 inch screen. Watch the Wii U video and let us know what your first thought is.
Microsoft Xbox 360 kicked off the 2011 E3 media circus by relaunching the Kinect. In a one hour and 28 minute developer and star studded exhibition Microsoft described how they are using the power of the xbox 360 to reinvent how you experience entertainment. All, with you as the controller.
At about 10:15am AEST today Sony’s press conference began with an action-packed montage of upcoming games on PlayStation systems, PlayStation Move and the NGP which has now been officially confirmed as the PSVita. They showcased plenty of exclusives, new Move titles and the impressive features of the PSVita, not to mention a price point for the USA, Europe and Japan for the new unit. Nintendo have been hitting the front page of many sites and printed media this past week, but for all the wrong reasons. Publicity is expected at this time of year however, with many in the gaming community expecting big news from the company at this years E3.
As of a few hours ago the PSN Welcome Back Package has been added to the PSN Store. It is Sony’s first step in trying to appease disgruntled customers after the “Great PSN Outage of 2011” and personally I think it’s fantastic. It’s running a bit slow at the moment which is pretty standard considering the fact that a few million people are all trying to grab their free games straight away, so you may get error messages while trying to access it.
