Over 150 billion fruit have met the blade in only 10 months since Fruit Ninja was released in April last year. Halfbrick Studios have announced that in those 10 months over 6 million paid copies of Fruit Ninja have been sold on the App Store. With numbers like those Goulburn Valley will need to stop canning.
Halfbrick have released an announcement that they are feeling down about all the fruit slaughter and have teamed up with Fruit Tree Planting Foundation to repopulate the depleted fruit industry. The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation plants orchards around the world to benefit communities and the environment. Halfbrick has teamed up with these fruit growing saviours to sponsor a fully functioning orchard in a Native American community as part of FTPF’s Reservation Preservation program. The produce will supply fresh healthy food for the locals, and also provide a guaranteed income for the local residents.
In a statement on the Halfbrick blog, Marketing man Phil Larsen said:
“The FTPF will take charge in planting and maintaining Halfbrick’s fruit orchard, and as the months continue and the fruit grows you can check out the progress and updates via both the Halfbrick blog and the FTPF website!”
