EA had quite a lot to show us at their press conference today, including a number of new game announcements, some more information about games we have already heard about, and a new premium service for Battlefield 3. In this post I give you a summary of what was shown, as well as the option to watch the entire press conference at the end of the post.

First cab off the rank was the official announcement of one of the worst kept secrets in the industry, Dead Space 3. They gave us an announcement trailer for the game, followed by a demonstration of the new drop-in drop-out co-op campaign.
SimCity Social was announced as coming to Facebook “in a few weeks” with a trailer that made sure that you know this is supposed to be a FarmVille killer. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but it does look like something that a lot of people will enjoy. A gameplay trailer for the upcoming PC game SimCity was also revealed showcasing various disasters and transport methods and things like that which the game will include. SimCity will include an all new multiplayer mode allowing you to play an entire region with multiple cities by yourself or join friends in creating a larger world. It looks great, and I have no doubt it will be a success.
Battlefield 3 Premium was then announced, along with a lineup of coming DLC packs for BF3. The Premium service will provide the user with early access to each of the DLC packs, as well as a number of other exclusive bonuses such as dog tags, camo skins, and more. Check out the trailer below to find out more, and I’ve also included the trailer for the next DLC pack entitled Close Quarters. Close Quarters is available now on PSN to Battlefield 3 Premium subscribers, next week for PC and 360 Premium subscribers, and a week after that for regular users.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter was the next title on display with EA providing a gameplay demonstration and a trailer. I personally quite enjoyed the last entry in the Medal Of Honor series, so I’m looking forward to this one as well. Warfighter has developer Danger Close doing the multiplayer mode themselves this time rather than getting in people from DICE, so we will get to see what they can make of it. The trailer here shows off the Global Warfighter multiplayer mode which allows players to fight as soldiers from one of ten different special forces units from around the world including the SASR from Australia.
Criterion Games Executive Producer Matt Webster announced their upcoming remake of Need For Speed Most Wanted. After creating Hot Pursuit in 2010, and after years of creating the Burnout series, Criterion are sure to do a good job with this one too. Integrating the AutoLog system which was used with Hot Pursuit this will allow players to keep track of and compare all the stats from their play time with the game. Check out the announcement trailer and a gameplay video below. Need For Speed Most Wanted is set for release October 30th.
Last but not least was a trailer and an action-packed gameplay demonstration of Crysis 3. It is set for release February 2013.
There were a few other things shown off during the press conference such as EA Sports titles including the announcement of a multi-year contract to create a UFC title. If you would like to watch the entire show you can here:
