Do you hate cancer? With less than two weeks til the fourth annual Extra Life Charity gaming marathon, have you put your hand up to help children fight for their life?
Here at Drop Bear Gaming we are trying to do our part to help sick kids kick cancer’s rear end, that’s why we have been in training to smash out a full 24 hours of gaming. Everyone can do their bit to help by either supporting us with a small $1 per hour donation or by joining our team and helping us along on the fight.
The official Extra Life weekend kicks off on Saturday, October 15 at 8am and lasts until 8am on the Sunday. This could be a problem for some gaming enthusiasts down under as it falls on the first day of the EB Games Expo held on the Gold Coast. In order to fulfil our commitment to raising cash for the kids we will be completing our 24 hour challenge on the next weekend. That’s right, over the weekend of October 22nd-23rd we will be found somewhere in front of a game, whether it’s on an Xbox, PS3, PC, Wii, DS, PSP, phone, tablet or iPod we will play games till our hands ache – then we will play some more til our marathon is complete.
As gaming is truly a global passion and a great way to build friends you could also join us online in games or chats. This would also help us stay alert and hopefully coherent for such a long period so go to the staff page and grab our gamer tags to make sure you can be a part of Drop Bear history.
You can sign up to participate in Extra Life as part of our team or donate to our cause at the Drop Bear Gaming team page on the official Extra Life website at: http://www.extra-life.org/team/DBG – 100% of the donations made towards our efforts will be going directly to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney. Help us help kids.
