Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

This is of course another entry in the top-selling Uncharted series, following protagonist Nathan Drake in his treasure hunting adventures around the world. This time around he will be searching through the Rub’al Khali, a desert in the Arabian Peninsula, on a quest to find the Iram of the Pillars, known as the “Atlantis of the Sands”. As usual this will include a lot of climbing, shooting and puzzles in Naughty Dog’s already tried and tested formula. Some of the games new features will be improved enemy AI, stereoscopic 3D support, and enhanced co-op and multiplayer.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is due for release November 1st.

SOCOM 4: Special Forces

Another title I am looking forward to in 2011 is the new Zipper Interactive third-person tactical shooter SOCOM 4: Special Forces. This title was originally due for release in 2010, however a delay was announced in July citing Zipper Interactive’s desire to focus on additional features and polish. This instalment will place you in control of a 5-man NATO squad in China on a mission to take down a local revolutionary group, the Naga. The game will consist of 14 missions, and will also include a multiplayer mode capable of supporting up to 32 players. This game will also allow use of the new PS Move Sharpshooter peripheral, which hopefully will take the FPS genre to a new level.

SOCOM 4: Special Forces is slated for release during the first quarter of 2011.

I am really looking forward to seeing some great things from Sony this year, and I really hope that the Move-capable titles in the list really fuel Sony’s side of the motion control war. You can find the full list of 2011 PS3 exclusives at Playstation.Blog.
